Exclusive: Hongqi’s $1.5 Million Guoli Limousine Set to Arrive in Australia
Hongqi’s Luxurious Guoli Limousine Set to Make Waves in Australia
Earlier this month, exciting news emerged for Australian car enthusiasts as reports surfaced about Hongqi’s plans to introduce its lineup in the Land Down Under. The Chinese automotive brand is gearing up to bring three electric or hybrid SUVs to the Australian market. However, recent developments indicate that Hongqi’s extravagant AUD$1.5 million luxury limousine, the Guoli, might also be on the horizon for Australian consumers.
Greentech, the local importer for Hongqi, hinted at the possibility of introducing the brand’s flagship limousines, including the Guoli or the Guoy, to the Australian market. Drawing parallels to renowned luxury brands like Audi, Toyota Crown, and Lexus, Greentech expressed optimism about adding a sedan alongside the three SUVs in Hongqi’s Australian lineup.
Insider sources suggest that the Sunflower series, which includes the prestigious Guoli, could potentially grace Australian roads in the near future. The unique styling and heritage-inspired design of the Guoli are expected to offer a refreshing alternative in the luxury vehicle segment. With a length of nearly six meters and a weight exceeding 3.1 tonnes, the Guoli pays homage to the iconic CA770 limousine from the 1960s.
Powering the Hongqi Guoli is a robust 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, capable of generating 285kW (382 hp) and 530Nm (390 lb ft) of torque. Despite its size and performance, the limousine boasts a claimed fuel consumption rate of 15.2 litres per 100 km (62 miles).

Although Greentech has not officially confirmed the availability of the Guoli in Australia, discussions are underway, indicating a potential expansion of Hongqi’s offerings in the country. The flagship limousine remains a tantalizing prospect for Australian consumers, awaiting a final decision from the importer.
For automotive enthusiasts eager to experience luxury and sophistication in a distinct package, Hongqi’s Guoli limousine could soon become a sought-after choice in the Australian market.
