Google’s Aluminium OS revealed in 16-minute leaked video

Recent leaks suggest that Aluminium OS, Google’s upcoming version of Android designed for PCs, may have been revealed just hours before Google’s Android Show presentation. According to a report by Android Authority, a leaker known as Mystic Leaks shared a 16-minute video on their Telegram channel showcasing a detailed hands-on demonstration of the new operating system.

The leaked video begins with a loading screen featuring the familiar Android logo, followed by the setup process for a new device. The user interface appears similar to stock Android but tailored for laptops rather than phones. Notable features include a taskbar and app drawer reminiscent of ChromeOS, a homescreen with desktop icons and a Google search bar, and the settings app identifying the OS as “Android version 17.”

In addition to the demo video, leaked images of a new line of “Googlebooks” surfaced on Tuesday, hinting at laptops optimized to run the new Android-for-PC OS.

Google is scheduled to host its annual Android Show presentation later today at 1PM ET / 10AM PT. With these leaks, it seems likely that some of the announcements will revolve around the new developments in the Android ecosystem.
