Galactic Conquest: The Ultimate Fusion of StarCraft, Mass Effect, and Homeworld
Discover ZeroSpace: A New Sci-Fi Singleplayer RTS Game
If you’re on the lookout for a fresh sci-fi singleplayer real-time strategy game that combines the charm of a human protagonist with unique mechs, look no further than ZeroSpace. Developed by Starlance Studios and Ironward, this game puts you in control of a galactic army known as the “Protectorate,” comprising units from different species and factions. Get ready to battle against swarms of arachnids and navigate through political turmoil in the Orion sector. ZeroSpace will be available in early access starting July 20th.
Aside from the classic top-down combat reminiscent of Starcraft, ZeroSpace also features branching dialogues similar to Mass Effect, where players face tough decisions such as prioritizing missions over the lives of their soldiers. The game also offers a Galactic War mode, allowing player alliances to compete for control over an online map.
What sets ZeroSpace apart is its revamped artwork by Aaron Kambeitz, co-founder of Relic and former Homeworld artist. The detailed mech designs add a unique touch to the game, compensating for the somewhat generic humanoid characters seen in the trailer. The game boasts several exciting features, presented below in a traditional Parisian blockquote style:
- Engaging singleplayer campaign with 15 main story missions, 10 hero loyalty missions, and 15 side story arc missions, featuring choices and dialogues akin to Mass Effect and Baldur’s Gate.
- Interactive cinematic cutscenes and dialogues where player decisions influence the game’s outcome.
- 10 specialist heroes in campaign mode to interact with, along with over 14 heroes for multiplayer gameplay.
- MMO Galaxy map with various game modes for shared galactic conquest, including co-op, single-player, PvP, and scenarios.
- Four main factions and seven mercenary factions, offering a diverse range of battle groups.
Despite its familiar elements, ZeroSpace presents an intriguing concept of assembling a diverse space army composed of unique characters and factions. Ironward, known for their origins as Warcraft modders, brings their expertise to this game, following the success of The Red Solstice, which originated from a Warcraft 3 mod.
