Ram 1500 Australia Recall: What You Need to Know
Ram Trucks Australia has issued a recall for 1262 units of the Ram 1500 DT due to a problem with the rear seatbelt buckle anchors. The recall notice states that the second-row centre and left-side seat belt buckle anchors may not meet specifications, potentially leading to the seatbelts not functioning as intended. This could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants in the event of an accident.
Affected owners will receive written notification and are advised to contact an authorized Ram dealer for a free rectification of the fault. The recall is limited to vehicles produced in 2026, with a total of 1262 vehicles affected. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list and the original recall notice are available for reference.
This Australian recall follows a larger recall in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, affecting approximately 1.44 million Ram 1500s. While the overseas recall covers vehicles produced between 2019 and 2026, the Australian campaign focuses solely on examples produced in 2026. The total number of vehicles recalled is higher than initially estimated by Ram Trucks Australia.
In addition to the Ram 1500 recall, 73 units of the Ram 2500 were also recalled earlier to address an issue with the electronic stability control system. Furthermore, the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models were part of a recall in December 2025 related to an instrument panel fault that could affect safety warnings.
For any concerns or inquiries, owners can contact an authorized Ram dealer or the Ram Trucks Australia customer center at 1300 681 655. To explore more about the Ram 1500, visit the Ram 1500 showroom.
