Ram Trucks Australia has officially announced the arrival of the V8-powered Ram 2500 Warlock heavy-duty pickup in the Australian market. Priced at $157,950 before on-road costs, the Warlock is set to hit showrooms across the country this month.

The Ram 2500 Warlock is designed to cater to off-road enthusiasts and will serve as the entry-level model in the Ram 2500 lineup. It is equipped with a powerful 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine that generates 306kW of power and 582Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an off-road four-wheel-drive system with high and low range capabilities. The braked towing capacity of the Warlock is an impressive 6700kg.

As the most affordable variant in the Ram 2500 range, the Warlock sits below the Laramie model, which is powered by a 6.7-litre turbo-diesel Cummins inline six engine producing 313kW and 1458Nm of torque. The Laramie is priced from $172,950 before on-road costs.

In Australia, the Warlock will be exclusively offered with the petrol V8 engine, although the Cummins engine is also available in the US version. This decision was made in response to Australian customers’ preference for the Hemi V8 engine.
