Laserfiche unveils AI agents for natural language workflows

Laserfiche Introduces AI Agents for Enhanced Content Management

Laserfiche has recently unveiled a groundbreaking development in the realm of content management – the introduction of AI agents that can assist in various tasks through natural language prompts. These intelligent assistants adhere to Laserfiche’s stringent security protocols and compliance standards, ensuring the protection of sensitive data.

Karl Chan, the CEO of Laserfiche, expressed his enthusiasm for this innovation, stating, “The integration of AI Agents into content management signifies a shift in how we approach the information lifecycle. By delegating routine tasks to agents operating within a governance framework, we are streamlining operations and prioritizing compliance, allowing organizations to modernize their processes effectively.”

Powered by generative LLM reasoning models, Laserfiche’s AI agents are capable of executing actions that bridge the gap between automated workflows and manual tasks, potentially reducing time and resource expenditure. These agents leverage document data analysis to perform tasks and implement changes based on user instructions given in natural language.

Capabilities of Laserfiche AI Agents

Accessible through Smart Chat, Laserfiche agents are equipped to perform tasks within the confines of user permissions and restrictions. This accessibility ensures that individuals of varying technical competencies can leverage these tools to automate their work securely.

By harnessing the power of intelligent agents and AI-driven content analysis, organizations can pinpoint specific information within documents, facilitating streamlined operations in departments such as legal, accounts payable, and HR.

In legal settings, Laserfiche AI agents can identify inconsistencies in documents and contracts, preempting them for human review. Accounts Payable departments can utilize these agents to locate overdue invoices and direct them to the appropriate teams for resolution. In HR, the AI system can scan employee records for relevant details and organize documents into appropriate digital folders based on security clearance.

Integration of Agents Across Industries

Laserfiche AI agents are designed to sift through repository content and take context-aware actions, empowering users to search for and organize information effectively. Justin Pava, Laserfiche’s chief product evangelist, highlighted the evolution of document storage, emphasizing the diminishing relevance of the physical location of data storage. With features like automatically-extracted metadata, AI-assisted search, and the autonomous capabilities of Laserfiche AI agents, users can focus on acting on data rather than organizing it.

Starting from May 7, 2026, users of Laserfiche Cloud can leverage the company’s AI agents to perform one-time actions through Smart Chat. Future updates will expand the agents’ functionalities, enabling integration into business processes, background operation, and real-time system monitoring for specific conditions.
