Apple’s smallest iPad just got its biggest price cut for Cyber Monday

The New iPad Mini Could Feature an OLED Display Upgrade in October

Apple’s iPad Mini is rumored to receive a significant upgrade with an OLED display as early as October, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This potential update would mark the most significant refresh for the iPad Mini since its redesign in 2021. Gurman had previously hinted at an OLED iPad Mini and suggested that it would come with a price increase. Recent reports also indicate that the price of AppleCare Plus for Macs and iPads is set to rise.

Potential Price Hike for the iPad Mini

Following Apple’s recent price adjustments across its product lineup, including a $100 increase for the current iPad Mini, a price hike for the OLED iPad Mini seems increasingly likely. Apple CEO Tim Cook attributed the price changes to the ongoing RAM shortage, which is expected to persist for the foreseeable future. As a result, the upcoming OLED iPad Mini is expected to be even more expensive than its predecessor.

Future Upgrades for Apple’s iPad Lineup

Aside from the OLED iPad Mini, Gurman suggests that Apple is also planning upgrades for the iPad Air and the base iPad in early 2023. The base iPad is expected to receive a minor refresh with an updated processor but no significant design changes. Rumors indicate that an OLED upgrade for the iPad Air is in the works, likely to be implemented next year. Additionally, Gurman hints at potential updates for the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil in the upcoming spring.
