London Startup Lua Secures €4.9 Million Funding to Expand its Innovative Human-Agent Collaboration Platform
Lua, a British operating system designed for human-agent collaboration in the workplace, has recently announced that it has successfully secured €4.9 million ($5.8 million) in funding. This funding will be used to further develop its developer community and the Lua Implementation Network.
The funding round was led by Norrsken22, with additional investments coming from Flourish Ventures, 20VC, P1 Ventures, Phosphor Capital, Y Combinator, and notable angels such as Henri Stern (CEO of Privy), Kaz Nejatian (CEO of Opendoor), and Med Benmansour (CEO of Nuitee).
In addition to its funding announcement, Lua is also contributing to the EU-Startups Summit prize package, offering $12k in LUA AI credits to help startups create AI agents that can automate tasks and interactions.
CEO Lorcan O’Cathain emphasized the importance of building an agent workforce with the same intentionality as a human workforce. He stated, “The companies that will succeed in the coming years are those that strategically build their agent workforce alongside their human workforce.”
In the UK, similar companies in adjacent segments have also seen significant funding activity. For example, Attio raised €44 million to scale its AI-native CRM, Flexzo AI secured €10.3 million for agentic AI workforce tools in healthcare staffing, and Zalos raised €3.1 million for AI agents in enterprise finance workflows.
Outside of the UK, companies like Wonderful in Amsterdam, EvoluteIQ in Stockholm, Blockbrain in Stuttgart, Nexus in Brussels, and Oraion in Dublin have also secured substantial funding for their AI agent platforms.
Despite the competitive landscape, Lua’s €4.9 million raise is seen as modest compared to larger growth financings. CEO Lorcan highlighted Lua’s unique approach, stating, “Most businesses are either blocked by technical complexity or locked into rigid tools that don’t reflect how their teams actually work. Lua is built on the opposite principle: teams own their agents, own their outcomes, and build compounding efficiency over time.”
Founded in 2024, Lua aims to create an operating system for human and agent collaboration, allowing teams of all technical abilities to build, own, and manage their own agent workforce. The company is also expanding its Lua Implementation Network, a community of independent partners deploying Lua agent workforces in various markets.
Lua’s founders, Lorcan O’Cathain and Stefan Kruger, bring a wealth of experience to the company. Lorcan previously served as MD of Zephyr Management’s Africa business, while Stefan was VP of Engineering at Paystack before the Stripe acquisition.
Lua offers a full-stack agent platform with one-click deployment, accessible through a CLI or natural language interface. The company handles infrastructure, model orchestration, data, channel integrations, and monitoring, allowing businesses to focus on writing business logic and choosing integrations for their agents.
According to Lua, teams can have a fully functioning agent workforce within hours, coordinating tasks between agents and humans within existing systems.
General Partner at Norrsken22, Lexi Novitske, expressed excitement about supporting Lua, stating, “The founders fundamentally understand how agent and human workforces need to collaborate to get work done.” Since launching its agent developer platform in October 2025, Lua has seen significant growth, with revenue increasing close to 30% week-on-week.
In conclusion, Lua’s innovative approach to human-agent collaboration and its focus on empowering teams of all technical abilities set it apart in the competitive landscape of enterprise AI and automation. With a strong foundation and a growing community of partners, Lua is well-positioned for future success.
