Jason Voorhees Set to Join Dead by Daylight on June 16

Fans of the horror genre have something exciting to look forward to as Behaviour has officially announced the arrival of Jason Voorhees as the next killer in Dead by Daylight. The iconic horror film character is scheduled to make his debut on June 16, much to the delight of players eagerly awaiting his arrival.

The trailer teaser sets the tone for Jason’s appearance in the game, stating, “The mask is on. The machete is dripping. The massacre has begun.” This ominous message hints at the terror that awaits players as they come face to face with the infamous Friday the 13th villain.

Dead by Daylight, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has become known for its ability to incorporate characters from various horror franchises. Despite launching in 2016, it was the 2017 console release that brought Jason Voorhees into the game, coincidentally around the same time as the release of Friday the 13th: The Game. While the latter faced licensing issues, Dead by Daylight has thrived by introducing new characters from a wide range of horror IPs.

Interestingly, the announcement focuses solely on Jason Voorhees without mentioning the Friday the 13th franchise. This decision raises questions about the extent of inspiration Behaviour will draw from the iconic film series in incorporating Jason into the game. Fans will undoubtedly be eager to discover how the developers pay homage to the beloved horror franchise.

As the release date approaches, anticipation builds for players to experience the thrill of facing off against Jason Voorhees in Dead by Daylight. With its ever-expanding roster of horror characters, the game continues to captivate fans and maintain its position as a leading title in the genre.
