Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Blocked in 132 Countries

Arc System Works and PlayStation’s highly anticipated superhero fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, is facing restrictions in 132 countries on Steam due to its reliance on PlayStation Network.

The game, scheduled for an early August release, has been flagged on SteamDB for inaccessibility in a significant number of countries. This situation mirrors the previous instance with Helldivers 2, which was initially set to be blocked in 177 countries.

Marvel Tokon is heavily dependent on PlayStation Network, which is not available in the affected countries. This limitation prevents fans from regions such as the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, and Central Asia, as well as the Vatican, from purchasing the game.

Interestingly, even the Pope is unable to acquire Marvel Tokon, although there are speculations that he could potentially use a VPN to access it.

While these restrictions were implemented back in February during the pre-order phase, they have resurfaced amidst other controversies within the PlayStation community. Sony’s decision to cease physical disc production, the criticism surrounding the closure of the PS3 and PS Vita stores, and the removal of purchased digital films from libraries have all contributed to the current negative sentiment online.

Additionally, PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino recently discussed the integration of AI in game development, adding to the ongoing discussions and debates within the gaming community.

Amidst the challenging atmosphere in PlayStation and gaming social circles, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is still set to launch on August 6, 2026, for PS5 and PC.
