Greenjets secures €35 million Series A funding with NATO support for cutting-edge aerospace technology
Greenjets Secures €35 Million in Series A Funding for Aerospace Technology Development
Greenjets, a leading aerospace technology company based in London, has announced a successful €35 million ($40 million) Series A funding round. The funding will support the company’s efforts in developing cutting-edge propulsion systems, aircraft platforms, and launch technologies for the next generation of aviation.
The funding round was led by Blossom Capital, with significant participation from the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), the National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF), and existing investors such as Tanglin Ventures and NSFO Family Office.
The CEO, Anmol Manohar, and CTO, Dr. Guido Monterzino, expressed their excitement about the funding, stating, “When we founded Greenjets, our goal was to create technologies that would revolutionize the aviation industry. The recent events in Ukraine have underscored the importance of these technologies in safeguarding lives, enhancing Europe’s resilience, and shaping the future of flight.”
Established in 2022 by Manohar and Dr. Monterzino, Greenjets boasts patented engine technology that enhances aircraft safety and reduces certification complexities. The company has developed innovative propulsion architectures, ranging from electric ducted fans to geared turbofan engines.
Combined with advanced aircraft integration and cost-effective manufacturing processes, Greenjets’ technologies enable the creation of aircraft that are quieter, faster, more efficient, and better suited for modern aerospace demands.
According to Greenjets, recent global conflicts have highlighted the rapidly evolving nature of aviation and the urgent need for affordable technologies that can protect individuals, critical infrastructure, and national resilience.
The company’s integrated portfolio, which includes propulsion systems, aircraft platforms, and launch technologies, is built on a common technology stack. This allows for rapid iteration, large-scale production, and deployment across various aerospace applications.
NIF emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges posed by drones in modern conflicts. Greenjets’ technologies play a critical role in closing the gap between interceptors and high-speed targets, significantly improving the performance of UAS and CUAS companies.
Greenjets is currently involved in multiple UK and international programs, with its technologies progressing towards demonstration trials with the UK Ministry of Defence and partner organizations.
The company’s expansion includes a significant increase in its UK facilities and workforce, demonstrating its commitment to transitioning from development to production.
Patrick Schneider-Sikorsky, Partner at NIF, highlighted the vital role of propulsion technology in the defense and security drone industry. Greenjets’ advancements at the engine and airframe level are instrumental in enhancing the performance of unmanned aerial systems and counter-UAS companies.
Greenjets plans to utilize the funding to accelerate its transition to production, delivering thousands of systems in the next year. The investment will also drive further development across its propulsion, aircraft, and launch technology portfolio, as well as support expansion with international partners and customers.
Recently selected by the UK Ministry of Defence under the Low-Cost Air Defence Effectors (LCADE) program, Greenjets is tasked with developing a British low-cost drone interceptor. This initiative is part of a broader European effort involving the UK, Poland, France, Italy, and Germany.
Greenjets is expanding its presence in India, the Middle East, and the United States, in addition to its operations in the UK and Germany.
