The Next Maserati Electric Vehicle Partnership with JAC Motors and Huawei

Recent reports indicate that Maserati’s next electric vehicle (EV) venture may have its roots in China. The renowned carmaker is said to be in discussions with JAC Motors and Huawei to co-create and produce two innovative electric vehicles.

As per the information from various sources, JAC Motors will take charge of the engineering and manufacturing aspects, while Huawei will contribute its cutting-edge technologies such as the HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility platform, Qiankun ADS driver assistance software, and electric drive components.

The upcoming electric vehicle lineup will feature an SUV and a grand tourer, strategically positioned alongside the existing Grecale Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore models. These new vehicles are slated to be produced at the state-of-the-art Zunjie Super Factory in Hefei, China, and then shipped to Italy in Semi Knocked Down (SKD) kits for final assembly. In the Chinese market, JAC Motors intends to market them under the Maextro brand.

Prior to this development, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa had hinted at the possibility of a collaboration. He emphasized the importance of industry partnerships for Maserati’s growth while affirming that the brand itself will not be up for sale.

Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting collaboration between Maserati, JAC Motors, and Huawei.
