Best Prices Today: Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G resides in a competitive mid-range segment of Android smartphones, offering a mix of premium features and affordability.
The device presents a sleek design with a plastic construction that mimics glass, complemented by a high-resolution 120Hz display.
It positions itself as a long-lasting device with a large 6580mAh battery and an impressive 200Mp main camera.
However, with many smartphones offering similar specs, Xiaomi faces tough competition. Here are my insights after thorough testing.
The device has a solid feel, providing substance without bulk.
Design & Build: Flagship-esque, but plastic
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G makes a strong initial impression, resembling a high-end flagship device. Despite a plastic back, the material is polished to a smooth finish.
Weighing 210g, the device feels substantial in hand without being overly heavy.
However, the oversized rear camera module placed where fingers naturally rest is not ergonomically ideal.
Further thoughts
- Color options include titanium, glacier blue, and mist purple
- IP66, IP68, and IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance offer protection
Screen & Speakers: Bold and brash
The Note 15 Pro features a 6.83-inch flat display, offering good quality at its price point. However, it falls short of being the best on the market.
The display excels in brightness, ensuring visibility even in bright sunlight.
Adam Smith / Foundry
Despite bright whites, color accuracy is a trade-off with exaggerated balance. The screen leans towards overblown colors, lacking natural nuances.
Sound quality is decent, with good texture and urgency. However, at maximum volume, sound becomes harsh and details are lost.
Further thoughts
- The display has a resolution of 2772 x 1280 and peak brightness of 3200 nits
- Support for 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and responsive gaming
Specs & Performance: Smooth running
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra chipset and 8GB of RAM in the review unit, the Note 15 Pro delivers smooth performance.
The device remains responsive, handling tasks without stutter or glitches.
Gaming performance is satisfactory, with occasional minor lags. For daily activities, the device offers reliable performance.

Redmi Note 15 Pro benchmarks
Further thoughts
- Available in multiple configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage
- Supports dual physical SIM and eSIM, but lacks Micro-SD expandable storage
Cameras: Devil in the detail
The standout feature is the 200Mp main camera, delivering exceptional detail capture. The primary sensor excels in capturing fine textures.
Adam Smith / Foundry
The camera offers a warmer color balance, resulting in more natural-looking photos. However, there are quirks, especially in high-resolution modes.
Further thoughts
- Features an “AI Beautify” mode for enhancing photos
- Sharp 20Mp selfie camera for clear results
Battery Life & Charging: Two days for almost everyone
With a 6580mAh battery, the Note 15 Pro offers impressive battery life, lasting up to two days on a single charge.
Fast-charging capabilities with a 45W charger ensure efficient charging.
Adam Smith / Foundry
Testing shows respectable charging speeds with the included charger.
Further thoughts
- 22.5W reverse wireless charging for quick-charging accessories
Software & Apps: The biggest downside
The Note 15 Pro runs HyperOS 2, Xiaomi’s software layer based on Android 15. It offers extensive personalization options but lacks polish.
While the software is modern and snappy, it suffers from bloatware and inconsistencies in customization options.
Adam Smith / Foundry
Improvements in software refinement and bloatware management are needed to enhance the user experience.
Further thoughts
- The Redmi Note 15 series promises 4 major OS updates and 6 years of security patches
- AI-driven photo editing tools show potential but face occasional errors
Price & Availability
In the UK, the Redmi Note 15 is available on Amazon starting at £349, with pre-orders available before the release on January 6.
Rivals in the mid-range segment include Samsung Galaxy A36, Nothing Phone (3a), and Honor 400.
Should you buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro?
Despite its affordable price, the Redmi Note 15 Pro offers impressive features like a 200Mp camera, long battery life, and vibrant display.
However, there are compromises in design, software, and screen quality compared to competitors. Further refinement could elevate this phone to greatness.
