Apple has recently announced price increases for its online services, following a trend seen in the streaming industry over the past few years. While Apple has not raised prices as frequently as some of its competitors, such as Netflix and Spotify, it is now making adjustments to its pricing structure.

The price hikes affect various Apple services, including Apple Music and Apple One bundles. The new pricing for Apple Music in the US is as follows:
– Apple Music Individual Plan: $11.99 per month (an increase of $1)
– Apple Music Family Plan: $19.99 per month (a $3 increase)
– Apple Music Student Plan: $6.99 per month (an increase of $1)
– Apple One Family Plan: $27.95 per month (up from $25.95)
– Apple One Premier Plan: $39.95 per month (up from $37.95)

The only plan that remains unchanged is the individual Apple One plan, priced at $19.95 per month. The price increases for the Family and Premier plans seem to be offset by the inclusion of the Apple Music Family plan, with Apple absorbing some of the costs for its subscribers.

Apple Music is unique in its pricing structure within the Apple One plans, as it is the only service that differentiates between individual and family plans. This is due to the licensing costs associated with music streaming, which have prompted Apple to raise prices to cover these expenses.

In comparison to Spotify, Apple Music’s price adjustments have been less frequent. While Apple last raised the price of Apple Music in 2022, Spotify has seen three $1 price hikes over the same period, with its Family plan priced at $21.99 per month.

Aside from the pricing changes for Apple Music, Apple has also increased iCloud+ prices in some countries, citing currency fluctuations as the reason for these adjustments. Customers in select countries may see an increase in iCloud+ prices ranging from 11% to 55%, depending on the plan and location.

Overall, Apple’s price hikes reflect the ongoing challenges in the streaming industry, where licensing costs and currency fluctuations can impact service pricing. Despite these adjustments, Apple remains committed to providing quality services to its customers.
