Nearly 30,000 Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs recalled in UAE

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Recalls in the UAE: What You Need to Know

In the UAE, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has been the subject of not one, but three separate recall notices affecting a total of 29,774 vehicles built in Japan between 2021 and 2024.

Al Futtaim Motors, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, is overseeing the recalls to address potential issues related to the engine, engine-control software, and automatic transmission.

First Recall: Engine Concerns

One of the recalls covers 6,571 vehicles and focuses on potential crankshaft bearing damage caused by manufacturing debris. Owners may experience symptoms such as unusual knocking, rough running, starting difficulties, or engine stalls. Affected engines will be inspected by dealers and replaced if necessary.

Second Recall: Engine-Control Software

Another campaign involves 7,453 Land Cruiser 300 SUVs with engine-control software that may not properly account for cooling-fan operation, potentially impacting engine output under certain conditions. The ECU software will be updated free of charge to address this issue.

Third Recall: Automatic Transmission

The largest campaign encompasses 15,750 vehicles and concerns the 10-speed automatic transmission. A fault in the transmission could lead to excessive rotational speed, transmission damage, power loss, or fluid leakage, potentially increasing the risk of fire. Owners will receive necessary repairs at no cost.
