The horrible Construct cyborgs of tactics game Menace are getting a rework for "style" and "variety", while the devs put a bullet in the promotion tax

Menace Game Update: Major Changes and Faction Revamp

The popular mercenary tactics game Menace is set to receive a significant update that addresses several key gameplay elements. Scheduled for release on April 22nd, the update aims to improve player experience by removing a controversial promotion tax, enhancing unit abilities, and revamping the Construct enemy faction.

One of the notable changes in the update is the removal of the promotion tax system, which previously penalized players for promoting the same character multiple times. This change is expected to make promoting units feel more rewarding and eliminate frustrating moments during gameplay.

Additionally, all units will now have the ability to clear wrecked vehicles, adding a new strategic element to the game. The update also includes adjustments to the Construct faction, which was criticized for lacking uniqueness and variety.

Despite being a faction of cybernetic abominations, the Construct enemies have been reworked to offer a more diverse and engaging gameplay experience. The faction now features new abilities and tactics aimed at challenging players in different ways.

Players can expect changes such as increased squaddie supply costs, reduced base supply costs, and adjusted promotion costs based on character star levels. These modifications are designed to create a more balanced and rewarding progression system.

Furthermore, the Construct faction has undergone significant changes, with adjustments made to enemy units’ abilities and behaviors. Construct enemies no longer affect unit morale with their attacks, focusing instead on other means of inflicting damage.

Construct Drones now have the ability to intimidate nearby enemies when killed, while Construct Soldiers have become more effective anti-vehicle troops with enhanced weaponry. The introduction of new unit types, such as Guncrawlers and Shamblers, adds depth to the faction’s roster.

One of the most anticipated additions is the Master Unit, a powerful Construct support unit shrouded in mystery. Players will have to discover its capabilities by facing it in battle when the update goes live.

In addition to gameplay changes, the Construct faction has received a visual overhaul to enhance their eerie and grotesque appearance. New loot items have also been introduced, providing players with more customization options in the Workshop.

Menace has garnered positive feedback during its early access phase, with players praising its challenging gameplay and strategic depth. While comparisons to the developer’s previous title, Battle Brothers, have been made, Menace continues to evolve and improve with each update.

Overall, the upcoming update promises to deliver a more engaging and rewarding experience for players, with a focus on strategic decision-making and diverse gameplay elements. Stay tuned for the release on April 22nd to discover the full extent of these exciting changes in Menace.
