KC Green and Artisan: Creating a Fine Future Together
Settlement Reached Between Artist KC Green and Startup Artisan
Following a dispute over the unauthorized use of his artwork by startup Artisan, renowned artist KC Green, creator of the famous “This is fine” meme, has announced that a resolution has been reached.
The conflict arose when Artisan featured a modified version of Green’s artwork in its advertising campaign for its AI assistant Ava. The ads displayed Green’s iconic dog surrounded by flames, with a new caption that read, “My pipeline is on fire,” prompting viewers to “Hire Ava the AI BDR.”
Expressing his frustration on social media, Green accused Artisan of “stealing” his art and encouraged his followers to take action against the ads. In response, Artisan emphasized its admiration for Green and his creations.
In a recent development, Artisan’s founder and CEO, Jaspar Carmichael-Jack, revealed that both parties have reached a mutually beneficial agreement. Green confirmed the settlement, which involved Artisan removing the contentious ads in New York and San Francisco, while Green agreed to remove his initial social media post.
