Slay the Spire 2 Receives Major Update with Beta Changes

Slay the Spire 2 has recently undergone a significant update that integrates all the additions, tweaks, and fixes from recent beta updates into the main branch of the game. However, developers Mega Crit emphasize that the game is still in Early Access, and feedback is crucial for further improvements.

The latest update brings a massive overhaul to the game, with major changes to the Ironclad, Silent, Regent, and Necrobinder characters. Additionally, new artwork has been introduced to replace the previous placeholders. The update also includes a Phobia mode to make enemies less intimidating, new visual effects, reworded descriptions, adjusted leaderboards, and a Badge system to highlight player achievements in each run.

The developers encourage players to provide feedback through the in-game feedback button (F2) to help shape the final version of the game. The update includes various changes to overall campaign progression, character abilities, and relic mechanics to enhance gameplay experience.

Character Updates

Each character in Slay the Spire 2 has received specific updates to improve gameplay balance and diversity. The Ironclad now features a new rare and Exhaustible card called “Not Yet,” focusing on healing and survivability. The Silent’s Blade Of Ink card has been revamped to provide shivs enchanted with Weak, while the Regent’s Arsenal and Regalite cards now grant Strength and Block based on created cards. The Necrobinder’s Borrowed Time ability has been enhanced to provide energy with increased card costs.

Relic Additions

Neow introduces new relics in the game, including Hefty Tablet, Neow’s Talisman, Neow’s Bones, Phial Holster, and Winged Boots. These relics offer unique benefits and strategic advantages to players as they progress through the game.

Leaderboard Changes

The game’s leaderboards have been revamped to display only friend’s scores, addressing concerns about cheating. Scoring is now based on winning, badge acquisition, and completion time, with a separate leaderboard for the main and beta branches of the game.

Bug Fixes and Future Updates

The update also includes numerous bug fixes, addressing issues such as multiplayer state divergence, controller navigation problems, softlocks, and crashes. Future updates may include new game modes and further balancing adjustments based on player feedback.

With these changes now implemented in the main branch of the game, players can expect a more balanced and engaging gameplay experience in Slay the Spire 2. Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements to come!
