The customization options for Quick Settings on Android devices have always been a popular feature. Users have been able to choose which tiles to display and in what order, but the overall structure of the menu has remained fixed.

According to a report by 9to5Google, testers of the latest Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 have discovered a new feature that allows for the rearrangement of the three main sections within Quick Settings.

If this feature makes it to the final release, it will provide users with a level of customization previously unseen on Pixel phones. This enhancement will make Quick Settings even more user-friendly for daily use.

Rearranging Three Key Sections

Users will have the ability to rearrange three essential sections within the expanded Quick Settings menu:

  • Brightness slider
  • Quick Settings tiles
  • Permanent media player

By utilizing a drag-and-drop interface, users can create six different layouts by rearranging these elements. This level of customization will allow for a more personalized Quick Settings experience.

For instance, individuals who frequently manage music or podcasts on their device may choose to prioritize the media player by placing it at the top. Others may prefer to highlight the Quick Settings or the brightness slider for easier access.
