BMW M3 Electric: Closing the Price Gap with its Petrol Counterpart
New Developments on the BMW M3 Electric
Recent reports have unveiled intriguing details about the highly anticipated BMW M3 electric model. Speculations suggest that the price of the upcoming electric vehicle (EV) might align closely with its conventional petrol-powered counterpart.
Sylvia Neubauer, the sales chief at BMW M, has hinted that both the electric and petrol versions of the M3 will coexist in the market. This will give consumers the flexibility to choose between an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle and an Electric Vehicle (EV) without a significant price difference. Despite functional and design distinctions, Neubauer likened the two variants to “twins.”
The BMW M3 electric model is set to be based on the innovative Neue Klasse platform, serving as the cornerstone for BMW’s next-generation EV lineup. Initial reports suggest that the electric M3 will feature a quad-motor configuration, with one motor allocated to each wheel, yielding an impressive power output of nearly 1000 horsepower. Prototype sightings during testing indicate substantial progress in the development phase.
Meanwhile, the petrol-powered BMW M3 will continue its legacy, transitioning into a new generation while retaining the familiar CLAR platform. The new iteration will incorporate design elements inspired by the Neue Klasse design philosophy, ensuring a seamless evolution for the iconic model.
