Cloudgeni Secures €858k Funding to Develop AI Agents for Enhanced Cloud Security
Oslo-Based Startup Cloudgeni Raises €858k ($1 Million) in Funding for Expansion
Cloudgeni, a startup based in Oslo, is making waves with its development of specialized AI agents that are dedicated to building and operating cloud infrastructure in a secure manner. Recently, the company successfully secured €858k ($1 million) in fresh funding from a group of Nordic investors. This financial boost will fuel Cloudgeni’s expansion plans across the Nordics and the United States.
The investors backing Cloudgeni include the byFounders Angel Collective, an angel investor network associated with Nordic VC byFounders, as well as Norwegian VCs Startuplab and Antler. Additionally, notable individuals such as Vegard Gullaksen Veiteberg, the CEO of tablet producer Remarkable, and Danish angel investor and serial entrepreneur Nicolaj Højer Nielsen have also contributed to the funding round.
Co-founder and COO of Cloudgeni, Iuliia Petryshyn Thuen, expressed her excitement about the support from experienced investors as the company gears up for its next phase of growth. With the product already validated in the home market, Cloudgeni is now eyeing expansion opportunities in the Nordics and the US, where they recently secured their first paying customer.
Established in 2024 by Thuen and Davlet Dzhakishev, Cloudgeni is on a mission to revolutionize cloud infrastructure with its AI-powered platform. This platform is designed to automatically detect, remediate, and ensure the security, compliance, and configuration health of cloud infrastructure using highly deterministic workflows.
According to Cloudgeni, a staggering 99% of cloud security failures stem from misconfigurations, and the cost of managing governance is on the rise. The company’s solution aims to proactively prevent issues, address them swiftly when they arise, and offer continuous proof without adding additional DevSecOps overhead.
Embracing a DevOps approach, Cloudgeni automates tasks that would typically require manual intervention in system operations. CEO Davlet Dzhakishev emphasized the importance of AI in navigating complex cloud environments and anticipates AI playing a more active role in operating systems moving forward.
Dzhakishev further explained that Cloudgeni’s AI agents are engineered to both construct and manage cloud infrastructure in a manner that prioritizes safety and reliability for the system owner. The company has already garnered the trust of major enterprises in Norway, such as industrial group Hydro and shipping company Havila, and has even forged a partnership with IBM.
Looking ahead, Cloudgeni is set to bolster its team to support its expansion plans and accommodate its growing clientele. The company’s innovative approach to cloud infrastructure management has positioned it as a key player in the industry, with a promising trajectory for the future.
