iOS 27 will let you choose between Gemini, Claude, and more for AI features: report

iOS 27 is just around the corner, with a new report delving into three exciting features set to be introduced on the upcoming iPhone. According to Bloomberg, Apple is gearing up for significant AI changes in Shortcuts, Writing Tools, and iPhone wallpapers.

One of the standout features in iOS 27 will be a more robust grammar checker akin to Grammarly, a popular third-party service. This grammar checker will appear in a translucent menu that slides up from the bottom of the screen, displaying original text alongside suggested revisions. Users will have the option to accept individual suggestions, approve all changes, or ignore them altogether, with additional controls to pause grammar checking and navigate between flagged sections of text.

Additionally, iOS 27 will enhance Writing Tools’ discoverability by testing a “Write With Siri” toggle at the top of the keyboard and introducing a “Help Me Write” button that activates when users summon Siri while working in a text field.

In the realm of Shortcuts, iOS 27 will empower users to create automations using natural language, allowing them to describe tasks and have the system automatically build and install the shortcuts on their device.

Moreover, iOS 27 will feature a new capability that enables users to generate custom wallpapers using AI. Building on the existing Image Playground app, this feature will be integrated into the standard wallpaper picker interface, offering users the opportunity to create personalized lock screen and home screen backgrounds.
