The Blood of Dawnwalker gets a late summer release date, system requirements, and another, very Witchery, gameplay look-in

Rebel Wolves Announces Release Date for Debut Title “The Blood of Dawnwalker”

It has been four years since Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director of The Witcher 3, co-founded Rebel Wolves. Now, the studio is gearing up for the release of their first game, The Blood of Dawnwalker. During a livestream, Rebel Wolves revealed that the game is set to launch on September 3rd, 2026, marking an exciting milestone for the team. However, with the gaming industry known for delays, fans are cautiously optimistic about the release date.

Alongside the release date announcement, a story trailer was unveiled, teasing the narrative of a man turned vampire on a mission to save his family within a tight deadline. The gameplay showcased during the livestream hinted at familiar combat mechanics reminiscent of The Witcher 3, with a twist – players will alternate between using a sword during the day and vampire powers at night. This dynamic gameplay mechanic adds a layer of strategy to the battles, although the overall combat system may not be groundbreaking.

The demo also delved into quest mechanics, introducing an infamy meter that tracks the player’s interactions with the game world. Engaging in specific quests can impact relationships with antagonists, shaping the direction of future quests. The absence of a traditional main questline in The Blood of Dawnwalker offers players a non-linear experience, allowing for diverse gameplay outcomes based on their decisions.

In addition to the gameplay reveal, Rebel Wolves also shared the system requirements for the game, allowing players to assess their hardware compatibility. Whether the requirements are suitable for your setup is a subjective matter, but the studio has provided the necessary information for informed decisions. With the release date set for September 3rd, players have the option to engage in day-one gameplay or wait for reviews to make an informed choice.
